When to trust the Lord?

today, or should i say yesterday, was not very good day for me. i felt that life was throwing all its troubles at me. i wondered why others could lead such carefree lives, when i have so many troubles. then i received some information which made me even more depressed. but later when i was sitting down worrying and brooding over all my troubles, i remembered that i shouldn't be sad. in fact, i should be happy, because it is when life seems very troublesome and tiring, that i get closer to God when i believe in him and trust him. instantly, i felt much much better. then, when i picked my daily devotional book, "Streams In The Desert", i saw this poem:

it is easy to love him when the blue is in the sky,
when the summer winds are blowing, and we smell the roses nigh;
there is little effort needed to obey His precious will
when it leads through flower-decked valley, or over sun-kissed hill.

it is when the rain is falling, or the mist hangs in the air,
when the road is dark and rugged, and the wind no longer fair,
when the rosy dawn has settled in a shadowland of gray,
that we find it hard to trust Him, and are slower to obey.

it is easy to trust Him when the singing birds have come,
and theur songs of praise are echoed in our heart and in our home;
but it's when we miss the music, and the days are dull and drear,
That we need a faith triumphant over every doubt and fear.

and out blessed Lorf will give it; what we lack He will supply;
Let us ask in faith believing-on His promises rely;
He will every be our Leader, whether smooth or rough the way,
and will prove Himself sufficient for the needs of every day.

that's not all to show that out God is the Lord Almighty, and he knows our worries and need. i saw this poem too:

when is the time to trust?
is it when all is calm,
when waves the victor's palm,
and life is one glad psalm
of joy and praise?
no! for the time to trust
is when the waves beat high,
when the storm clouds fill the sky,
and prayer is one long cry,
"oh, help and save!"

when is the time to trust?
is it when friends are true?
is it when comforts woo?
and in all we say and do,
we meet but praise?
no! for the time to trust
is when we stand alone,
and summer birds have flown,
and every prop is gone,
all else but God.

when is the time to trust?
is it some future day,
when you have tried your way,
and learned to trust and pray
by bitter woe?
no! for the time to trust
is in this moment's need,
poor, broken, bruised reed!
poor, troubled soul, make speed
to trust your God.

when is the time to trust?
is it when hopes beat high,
when sunshine gilds the sky,
and joy and ecstacy
fill all the heart?
no! for the time to trust
is when out joy has fled,
when sorrow bows the head,
and all is cold and dead,
all else but God.

what a wonderful God we have right? not one, but two poems to cheer me up! if you are worrying and brooding over your troubles now, i urge you to trust in the Lord and find joy amongst angst with the power and promise the Lord has given to each and every of us.

lastly, thank you God, for all you've given me to give to this world. grant me, grant us faith to completely trust Your Word, even when every other sign points the other way. use me to bless your people. teach me the power of love, to love your people. amen.
